A long dinner table set with candles and flowers

Your taste, dish by dish.

A free food app for people who love to eat. Remember every dish, share what you cook, and always know what to order.

The idea

Rate the dish, not the restaurant.

Every food app gives a whole restaurant a star rating. But that's not how eating works. The same place can serve the best steak of your life and fries you'd never order again. Palate remembers both, so next time you order the right thing.

One meal, three very different answers. After a few meals Palate knows your taste: what you love, what you skip, and the rules you eat by. Then it reads any menu for you and points at the dishes made for you.

Our story

It started at a family dinner table in New York.

Palate was started in 2026 by Arik Altheim, a New York business owner and a serious home cook who loves eating out. He kept running into the same problem: he could remember a great restaurant but not the dish that made it great. And the family recipes everyone asked for lived in screenshots and old group chats.

So he built a place for both. Palate keeps your own taste: every dish you've eaten, how it was, and what to order next time. It also keeps the food you make at home, shared only with the people you choose.

The first recipe on Palate is Arik's own: a silan shawarma baby chicken with broccoli. He invented it, cooked it and ate it, and now his family can cook it too.

When he showed the idea to his son, his verdict was short: "It's a W idea." Palate launched to friends and family that week.
